# What is Dot?

Dot is a tool inside your Oath profile that lets you ask questions about candidates, races, issues, and politics in plain English and get a clear answer drawn from Oath's research and recommendations. Its name is a nod to “Oath Dot Vote”.

Dot helps you catch up on a race, see where candidates stand, and decide where your giving matters most, then points you to donation options on Oath when it fits. You stay in control of whether, where, and how much you give.

Dot is an AI tool, so its responses are generated automatically and will not be able to provide a response on all topics.
