The campaign/organization does not have an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Is a Social Security Number (SSN) an acceptable alternative to an EIN?

Unfortunately, due to payment processor requirements and internal information security protocols, we cannot accept an SSN in lieu of an EIN. Recipients without an EIN can obtain one in minutes and at no cost via IRS.gov.

Be sure to save your EIN confirmation document (usually an SS-4), as it may be requested to expedite the verification process.
